Task 01: Cloud Storage There are a number of cloud storage services (such as ADrive, Microsoft SkyDrive, Google Drive, Dropbox, and Box) designed to allow individuals to back up files online and share specific files with others; specialty online storage services designed for digital photo sharing include Flickr, Photobucket, and Snapfish.
For this task, visit at least three cloud storage sites designed for backup and file exchange, and at least two sites designed for digital photo sharing. You can try the sites listed above or use a search site to find alternative sites.
1. Tour your selected sites to determine the features each service offers, the cost, the amount of storage space available, and the options for sending uploaded files to others.
2. Do the sites password-protect your files, or are they available for anyone with an Internet connection to see?
3. What are the benefits for using these types of storage services?
4. Can you think of any drawbacks?
5. Would you want to use any of the storage sites you visited? Why or why not?
6. At the conclusion of this task, prepare a short summary of your findings.
Task 02: Printer Shopping Printers today have many more features than a few years ago. These features may include improved quality, more memory, photo printing capabilities, digital camera connectivity, built-in flash memory card readers, wireless connectivity, and faster speed. For this task, suppose you are in the market or an online store (mention the name and URL of store) for a new personal printer. Make a list of the most important features needed to meet your needs, and then research printers to identify the best printer for your needs. Be sure to consider both the price of the printer and the price of consumables (such as paper and ink/toner) in your evaluation process. At the conclusion of your research, prepare a one-page summary of your findings.
Task 03: New OSs There have been a number of new operating systems developed in the past few years, such as Android 7.0, Apple macOS High Sierra, Windows 10 and Google Chrome OS. For this task, select one new or emerging operating system and research it.
1. What is the purpose and targeted market for this operating system?
2. What advantages does it have over any current competition for this market?
3. If the operating system was developed to fulfill a new need, are there other operating systems that are being adapted or being developed as a result?
4. Do you think your selected operating system will succeed? Why or why not?

1. DUET Karachi

• The Dawood University of Engineering and Technology (initials:DUET) is a publicuniversity located in the industrial area of Karachi, Sindh, Pakistan.^[3]

• Established in 1962 as a public university, its initial financial endowment and foundation stone of the Dawood College of Engineering & Technology was laid by the former President of Pakistan (Late) Ayub Khan in 1962. The University was established by Dawood Foundation under the supervision of Seth Ahmed Dawood in 1964.^[4] It is regarded as one of the oldest institution of higher learning in engineering and science, and offers undergraduate programmes in engineering and architecture.^[5] It is one of the notable institution in Karachi and secured its placed in "engineering category" by the HEC, as of 2010.^[6] The university is distinguished for its commitment and strong emphasis on energy science programmes and studies in architectural styles.^[4]

2. History

• On March 2013 the Sindh Assembly passed the Sindh ACT No. XII of 2013, upgrading it to a University. Its academic and administrative control has been vested in the Syndicate, Senate and Academic Council as per ACT. The Vice- Chancellor is the Principal Executive and Academic Officer of the University.

3. About Campus

• Dawood University of Engineering and Technology has two campus. Main campus where all engineering programs are conducted. Another campus is Iqbal campus where architect and planning program is conducted.^[7] The University offers four year degree programs in the field of engineering and Five year in the Field of architecture.

• The Engineering departments include Electronics, Chemical, Industrial & Management and Metallurgy & Materials. From the session 2010–2011, the University has introduced four new departments namely Energy & Environment, Petroleum & Gas, Telecommunication, and Computer System Engineering.

• The University has two campuses, one located near Quaid-e-Azam Mausoleum and the other situated at Block-17 Gulshan-e-Iqbal, Karachi. These campuses comprise various facilities including class rooms, state of the art lending and reference libraries, laboratories, workshops, drawing halls, Students cafeteria, auditorium, with a capacity of 650, seminar rooms girls common room etc.
